The government has promoted the recovery of the manufacturing industry through policies such as tax incentives and investment subsidies, especially in export-oriented industries like automobile manufacturing and electronic equipment.
In 2025, the South African auto market will continue to grow. The sales of Chinese brands such as CHERY and GWM increase by more than 10% year-on-year, becoming important growth points.
The proportion of manufacturing in GDP is expected to increase from 12% in 2025 to 15% in 2030.
